The Debt ceiling is on everyone’s mind. One of the regrettable upshots of this crisis is our government’s inability to govern. We move from one crisis to the next. There seems to be no plan. Most businesses have plans; Apple is perhaps the best example of this given how very successful the company has been.
If I were to choose the most important issues going forward: Water, energy storage, and the economy.
When a boat has 3 550 mile days it is hard to compete against them. Mar Monstro won the transatlantic race overall

The transpac is now already history. “Belle Mente” was first to finish. It is odd how a race even one like this becomes an old story so quickly. For someone from the East, this is one of the classic distance races. It has also contributed to the myth of living on the West coast.
I am having the same feelings about my recently completed transatlantic race. It was 16 days of my life and yet it seems I am not allowed to savor the memories. I returned home to unopened mail, paying bills and my routine. I am working (struggling) on editing 15 hours of video that I shot during the transatlantic race into a short video that someone might actually take the time to watch. This is another reason I selected the video in this post, it is nicely edited, tells a story and the accompanying music well done.
Over the weekend the twelve meters raced in the water off Newport. Apart from the fact that these boats are part of my memories; I never get tired of seeing them sail. For more 12 meter images click HERE.
Of all the contemporary artists with troubled lives; Amy Winehouse was the one who for me had a talent that one wondered where it came from. I confess being completely seduced by her music. Her life was a train wreck waiting to happen.
