What a sucky (excuse my French) idea. First of all, the Farr office hasn’t had a competitive VO design in the race since Pre-ABN AMRO and it seems like most of their boats have either been dogs, sunk or both (in some cases, should’ve been sunk by their frustrated crews). Why in heaven’s name would Frostad go with Farr instead of with Juan K, who owns the current VO 70 fleet. Awful development.Farr isn’t even doing any notable offshore commissions at this point, those all seem to be RP, Juan, Ker or Mark Mills. Anyone name the last custom Farr that was notable? And i say this, admitting that my all time favorite boat (that i’ve sailed on regularly) was the Farr 60.
