RAINY SEASON IN SONOMA
The rain of the winter season replenishes the earth in sonoma. Flooding and mudslides are a new normal as development contests with nature. Spring is not far away here.

SONOMA MOODS
The Colors of Sonoma could never be confused with those of somewhere in the East. It took me a while to understand how different each part of the world can be.
LUTHER BURBANK, AMERICAN BOTANIST
LUTHER BURBANK developed more than 800 varieties of plants, over 200 variety of fruits and vegetables. Born in Lancaster, Ma on March 7, 1849, moving to Santa Rosa, Ca in 1875 where he died April 11, 1926.
I am descended from the Burbanks ( my maternal great-grandmother was a Burbank).
Some of his creations were: the shasta daisy, the pink lady, spineless cactus, russet potato, seedless grapes, and so many more.
He sold the rights to the russet potato and with that money moved from Lancaster, Ma to Santa Rosa, Ca; where he continued his research and development until his death in 1926.

SONOMA MORNING ACTIVITIES
JUNE 22, 2014
The competitors in the Bermuda race are still waiting for the southwesterly breeze to fill as forecast; moving slowly in any direction to achieve forward motion until then. No record times in this race. RACE TRACKER BY YELLOWBRICK
Meanwhile, I am a long way from it all; in Sonoma.
AT LEAST THE SHEEP ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW ZEALAND WIN
The win by team new zealand was pretty much a foregone conclusion, I am reluctant to say it but I am not certain what the Italians expected or if they came for the party. I hope they got what they wanted given the price of admission.
Team New Zealand is, I believe, favored to win the America’s Cup. It will be certainly closer than the Louis Vuitton.
