SPRING IS HERE
It was not very long ago none of us in New England thought we would ever see spring; or if we did it would be with piles of snow everywhere. All of this is so easily forgotten with the long warming days of sunlight. Even more resounding is nature’s delicate return as unrelenting as winter’s cold.
On another note the Volvo Ocean Race is due in Newport May 7.
SNOW ON SNOW
I have shovelled snow every day since January 30 of this year. I would guess I am not the only one.
WINTER WON’T LET GO
COLD AND COLDER
ABOVE AVERAGE SNOW PILES
More snow today; on top of so many days of snow with no melting. More snow on the way. Garrison Keillor can keep his above average. There is so much snow it is hard to imagine it will melt by august.
BURIED; AGAIN
We made it to the end of January with no snow. Then everything changed. I had also made it to this same date without my fingers splitting; which happens every winter. Somehow I thought that I had made it through the winter without this happening; just like I thought it might be a snowless winter.
LISTENING TO THE SNOW ON THE BAMBOO
It has been snowing virtually every day the last 10 days and it looks like that pattern will continue at least through washington’s birthday.
Today, it has snowed all day long. there was very little traffic or any activity of any kind. While shoveling I could hear the snow falling on the leaves of the bamboo. 
WHAT TO DO WHEN IT’S COLD
HISTORIC BLIZZARD FOR THE EAST COAST
IT HAS BEEN ALL OVER THE NEWS. THE EAST COAST OF THE UNITED STATES; ESPECIALLY NEW ENGLAND WILL BE HIT HARD. VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING WILL COME TO A HALT. NO TRAVEL FOR CERTAIN.
