The Panerai Classic Yacht Regatta 2018 concluded yesterday with an overall win for “Siren” a NY 32 owned by Peter Cassidy. We sailed friday, saturday and sunday.
3 days of near perfect weather.
TODAY BRINGS TO A CLOSE THE COACHING IN NEWPORT. IT WILL BE THREE YEARS BEFORE THEY COME AGAIN.
The final day of racing off Newport was a glorious day with very challenging conditions given the leftover swell.
THE 2018 BERMUDA RACE HAD A NUMBER OF GATES. AND NO OPPORTUNITIES FOR PASSING. WE NEVER HAD WATER ON DECK, AND NEVER REEFED.
IT DID NOT MATTER IF YOU WENT EAST AT THE START OR WEST; EVERYONE RE-UNITED AT THE NARROW POINT OF THE STREAM.
On may 8 2018 two of the boats finished overlapped after 5700 miles. With a foul tide and no wind and fog the positions changed in the final miles.
The St. Patrick’s day parade is for many the first day of spring; where people venture out. Today was cold and windy; however it did not cool people’s enthusiasm.
