40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LOSS OF THE AMERICA’S CUP

SEPTEMBER 26, 1983 AUSTRALIA II DEFEATED LIBERTY 4-3 IN A BEST OF 7 SERIES TO WIN THE AMERICA’S CUP.  THE RIGHT THING HAPPENED FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS. IT WAS TIME TO RE-SHAPE THE AMERICA’S CUP;  I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE COULD HAVE PREDICTED WHERE WE ARE NOW.

  1. Hi Stephen,
Would it be possible to send me a high res copy of your stunning photo of the ’83 Cup win? It’s called ‘the shot heard around the world’ and I’ve only just seen it! The daily paper would love to have this for the 40th anniversary coverage coming out on 23 Sept. We would need it asap. Also, I have sent you a message on FB about another pic.
