In early 1971 I was hitchhiking around
Jamaica, Stephen, when I heard about
a yacht in Montego Bay. Its crew was
supposed to be Canadian and, being one,
I decided to go there to see if I could
catch a ride with the boys. Made it to
MoBay and, as I walked up the drive
to the clubhouse, a car drove by on
its way out. It stopped. As it turned
out, the people in the car were
crewing Charisma. Three of the
four were Canadians. And they
somehow knew about me.
The only name I remember is Fred,
the captain, who had (if I properly
recall) a beard, not surprisingly. He
was big on taking photographs. I
got along with him quite well.
I stayed with the yacht for about 2
weeks. I hopped out at Annapolis,
Maryland and hitchhiked back to
Toronto. That was my first and
last yachting experience.
Is my Charisma your Charisma?
I recall Fred mentioning that the
yacht used to compete in SORC.
I once had a Charisma teeshirt
that was unfortunately a bit
too small for me. Thanx.

Hi do you have any photos of George O’Day ? He sailed 12’s in the 70’s with Bus Musberger.
I thought it might be nice to surprise my husband for the holidays,
Thank you
I am wondering if you have photos of Boomerang or Baccarat on the Bermuda races in the early 1960’s. My dad sailed with George C –looking for photos of those times.
