ROUTE DU RHUM
Départ Route du Rhum 2014-Easy Ride from Easy Ride on Vimeo.
So much has been written about growing the sport of sailing in the United States. I am just no sure it will ever happen. Look what happens in France.
SAILING THROUGH LIFE
This is in response to those who asked:”Who are you?” It is a least a dimension.Boats have always been a part of my life. Naturally interwoven with the story of Newport.
CONVERTING “GERONIMO” INTO “SODEBO”
“Geronimo” has been updated for Thomas Coville. Olivier de Kersauson set the bar high with “Geronimo” some years ago; setting records everywhere he sailed.
CROWS
Crows have fascinated humans since the beginning of time. Throughout literature crows have played an important role. When young I had a crow which I tried to teach to talk. I convinced myself that it had indeed learned several words. I cannot tell you with any certainty that the crow actually did. I eventually let the crow free; he did have an enormous walk-in cage while in captivity.
GARGOYLES
Ever wonder about these creatures created out of man’s imagination and look down on us.
DINNER FACING NOTRE DAME DE PARIS
Dinner next to Notre Dame with lifelong friends last night. Dinner was warm and charming, as it can be among friends. The view no less astounding.
LA BELLE EPOQUE
When we think of France, if you are like me, you think of the 17th and 18th centuries. Of course there was before and after; and no shortage of marvelous examples, but here, the last quarter of the 19th century is shown in all it’s glory through these architectural gems. We have some wonderful buildings in the United States from this period as well, but neither the quality or quantity, particularly so concentrated in one place. It is not obvious to me at least, that out of this framework came impressionist painting.
